Esquire recently spoke with Charlie Day (Charlie Kelly) and asked him what his top 5 favorite episodes of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia have been so far…
I don’t think I can pick five favorites because that would be like picking five members of my family. I’m going to pick five that I don’t think are talked about as much and that I think are as good as we can make.
What episodes would you pick? Could you pick 5 favorites? Here are the 5 that Charlie picked.
- The Gang Sells Out
- The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell
- The Gang Gets a New Member
- The Gang Dines Out
- The Gang Broke Dee

The Gang Sells Out
Why this episode is a favorite:
It’s an episode in which they realize they have an opportunity to sell the bar to this corporate chain, like a Fuddruckers type of place. Of course they quickly blow their opportunity by negotiating too hard. And then you realize that Frank had an old street gang, but all the street gang did was stand on the corner and sing in a four-part harmony. The whole idea of this gang, the Yellow Jacket Boys, is so funny. We hired this barbershop quartet for it.
The negotiation gone wrong. Or when Dennis realizes for the first time that the Yellow Jacket Boys are a singing gang and not an intimidating street gang.
