Will Dennis return for further seasons?

Goodbye Glenn?

Don’t go Dennis

If you have seen the ending of season 12 (if you haven’t what are you doing? Go and watch it!) then you will be wondering, just like the rest of us, whether Dennis will be returning for future seasons of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Glennis

Here is what we know:

  • All of the gang will be busy in the next few months with Rob McElhenney (Mac) will be directing the Minecraft movie and Kaitlin (Dee) starring in her own sit-com – The Mick
  • Glenn has many projects on in the near future including a show with another comedian Patton Oswalt
  • Glenn has said “Just to be clear, to dispel any potential weirdness, it has nothing to do with my relationship to anyone on the show or Rob or Charlie or anyone like that. It’s partially a creative and personal decision.”

It’s good to know that the relationship between Glenn and the rest of the gang is still strong and there is a lot of potential for him to come back again. God knows we want him to!

After the final episode of season 12 (Dennis’ Double Life) there was an outpouring of love for Glenn and his iconic character. Glenn tweeted about the outpouring of love for him.

Here is what he said –

This is the ending we were talking about – Here it is!

Spoiler warning!

Do you want to see a Always Sunny season without Dennis?

Do you think they will find a replacement if he doesn’t come back?

I want him to stay until the end and I don’t think the show will be the same without him, although it may be the perfect way to escape his dark past… We will have to wait and see!

I loved this episode even though it had such a turbulent ending… What was yours?

  1. Dude it can’t be the same without him!! Personally my favorite character in the whole thing.. all’s I know is the mick is the shit. I seen Dennis ( Glenn) get shot in a movie…. Potentially… fucking bad ass btw!! Everything Charlie does is gold! Rob is gonna do great in anything he does and devito is a legend already…. I hope to all hell it goes on forever but if not I’m still optimistic about the gangs future!!! I might be the biggest fan ever btw… Try me

  2. When I saw the final episode of Season 12 (Yes I watched ALL of season 12) and for the first time I felt for Dennis, the twist at the end surprised me. Yes I will be deeply sad if “Glennis” leaves the show. He’s irreplaceable, and it would feel like we’re losing a great actor who’s character is narcissistic, selfish, reserved and anti-social, and absolutely vain–“I am a golden GOD!” No one plays that character better than Glenn. I’m not sure if I’d like the show as much as before, if Glennis was to be replaced. I can think of a few actors that could take his place but never, never fill his shoes: Christopher Titus, Keegan-Michael Key, Noel Fielding, Patton Oswalt, Justin Chatwin, Bryan Callan and Daniel Tosh–but as a different character. But no one will EVER fill Glenn’s place and I hope he doesn’t go!!!!

  3. In my opinion, if the whole gang isn’t involved, the show should come to an end. I cant imagine this show without any of them. Their final episode should be the whole gang going out in true Sunny style.
